I received a very good phone call on Tuesday. It was Paul, who is one of the partners for the local Sonic corporation. He called to tell me I got the job I interviewed for over the last two weeks. The position is assistant to the Marketing Director. I was very excited, and still am, when he called.
I read a blog not too long ago about a student who was miserable with the job she had. Someone commented on the blog saying that if you're miserable in your job, it affects everything else in your life. I realized after reading that how miserable I was. I had been at my current job for almost 3 years. I have been working for a title company, a job I truly hate. It wasn't something that interested me at all. It was just something that made my parents happy. They wanted me to have a "real" job.
Needless to say, they are very pleased that I received this job and not some job at Best Buy, no offense to employees at Best Buy, those were their words.
After a lot of praying I fell upon this opportunity. I'm very excited. Although I'm not a Marketing major anymore, I think this will be a fun experience.
Alright, enjoy the stormy weather. Stay safe.

Congratulations! I hate my job, and I definitely agree that it affects your life when you hate your job. I'm always in a really bad mood when I leave work, and it causes unnecessary bickering some times. I'm trying to get an internship or something that I would actually enjoy =P

Oh, can I tell you how it affects your life when you hate your job! I have gained 30 lbs of stress fat....and I too, start a new adventure that's going to be a big change in environment. So I wish you lots of luck in your new adventure.
ReplyDeleteWell just remember all things work together for the good to those that love Christ. We spend more times at our jobs than homes sometimes so its important for us to be satified with our careers/jobs. I love my job.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS! As a marketing major, I am truly jealous! Lol. I hope you have lots of fun and enjoy the job ten-fold.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
